The Maine Grind is located in the building which formerly was the Masonic Hall in Ellsworth, Maine which was built in 1937. After the current owners of the historic property purchased the property in 2006 they painstakingly restored the building to it's original grandeur, albeit with a number of modern upgrades. On the second floor of this magnificent building is Upstairs at the Grind, which is an event and function space. Rented on a daily, half day or hourly basis the space can hold up to 185 people. It is handicap accessible via a chairlift, has restrooms, a pleasant sitting area and much more. The room is a lovely space with 17 foot ceilings, over-sized windows that overlook Ellsworth. The room itself is 45 x 50, with several anit- rooms and a foyer as well. It is a great space for functions of all sizes under 185 people. For smaller gatherings the Maine Grind Cafe is available to rent, as well as a lower level that is ideal for dances, yoga and dance lessons. Catering is available through the Maine Grind. With the swish of her magic wand, Our Catering Queen can tailor whatever the needs and desires your event requires. Beer & Wine are available. Live music or DJ can be arranged. Presentation needs like sound and projection equipment are available. We also work with Wallace Tents in Ellsworth, Maine who provide us with high-quality linens, tables, dishes, glassware and flatware. Flowers are readily available in the Downtown area. We work on a case by case basis depending on the type of event, how many people and other considerations. The following rates give a general idea of where we start when working out the details with each client: Rental rates start at $50 per hour $150 for 1/2 day rental $350 for a full day Cleaning and set-up fees are billed separately when applied.
